Asus g73 Review
Most of the dedicated gaming laptops available in the market are, unfortunately, not quite impressive in their looks. The people at Asus have certainly realized this and come up with a laptop that is designed to appeal to your imagination.
At one shot, the new G73 from Asus will look like one of those stealth bombers that you fly around in its massive 17.3 inch screen. And when you try it, you will feel the same power, the same thrill and the same pride that you would if you were sitting inside them. As per the technical specs go, Asus g73 seems to have everything that one ever needs in a gaming laptop. However, we have often seen computers that fall well short of the promises set by their specifications. But, g73 from Asus does not disappoint.

In fact, in many areas it goes beyond expectation. The powerful Intel core i7 processor is really sharp and powerful. Thanks to it and a powerful chipset, the laptop makes multitasking so easy and smooth. It also comes with an advanced Radeon graphics cards that will make your gaming experience even more vivid.
Even when push to its limits, Asus G73 performs without any glitches. It handles the demanding games very comfortably. The high resolution screen and captivating sound have been two features that will keep you glued to it for hours.
The screen supports 1080p HD. The viewing angles are OK without hardly any color shift from side to side. However, the discrepancy increases from above to below. The integrated Blu-ray drive makes it a perfect tool to experience the finest details of a video.
The screen of Asus G73 has a retro look as it sits a few inches forward. The glossy coating of the panel looks attractive and the black shade adds to its solidity.
On the flip side, the glossiness caused some reflectivity, especially under bright lights. However, the screen manages the shadowy areas on the screen brilliantly. So, you can spot your enemies hiding under the bridge more easily.
As far as the sound is concerned, the Asus ROG models have a small built-in subwoofer for superb sound. So, next time, you don?t have to reach out to plug the laptop to a speaker to enjoy the games to the fullest.
Asus has used quite a large chassis. Though this has made the laptop a bit on the larger side, it has made it easier to scroll through the keypads as well. The keypad is well spread out. The chiclet pattern has made the keys pronounced and tactile. What’s more, we’ve got a dedicated num pad and it does not cram the space up.
The touchpad is not exactly at the center. However, it is very large and has a matte finish that makes it convenient to use. There is a dedicated scroll zone on the right of the touchpad as well. But, both the touchpad and the scroll zones are harder than expected.

So, if you are just a bit confused as to which one to buy, remember that they are mostly the same with some features added or removed. The Asus G73 JH-A1 is the original high end model. The JH-A2 shares all the features of A1 except for the BD Combo. Instead, it includes Super multi CD/DVD drive.
The Asus JH-X1 and JH-X2 has less hard disk space (2 x 250 GB drives). They also don’t have gaming mouse and backpacks. The Asus G73 JH-X3 has similar features to A-2, but it includes two 320 GB HDDs.
Even though there are a few cons, if you are looking for a dedicated gaming laptop that will deliver performance, aesthetic design, and a feeling of satisfaction, Asus g73 is the right choice.
When looking to buy new you might consider going for the newer Asus G74 models, which are more readily available and have a better price point than the Asus G73 series.
